Welcome to Southside Learning Center — where young minds grow strong, confident, and curious!
Located in the heart of our community, we offer a nurturing, play-based environment designed to support early learning and build lifelong skills. Our featured pre-school program provides care and enrichment for children ages 3 and 4, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with early drop-off available starting at 8:30 AM.
We’re more than just a preschool! Southside also offers:
Homeschool co-op classes for families seeking academic and social enrichment
Small group and 1-on-1 tutoring tailored to meet each child’s individual needs
Learning Camps that will take place on (SCS) Teacher Work Days throughout the year
Summer Camps

Meet the Founders
Hi! I'm Jordan Vaughn--co-founder of Southside Learning Center and a passionate advocate for joyful, hands-on learning!
I am a certified K-6 elementary educator with 13 years of classroom experience teaching students in 2nd-5th grade.
In addition to my elementary certification, I'm also certified in Health and Physical Education and Middle Grades Math. I'm proud to be a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, which allowed me to deepen my training in education and leadership.
My heart has always been in creating learning environments where children feel seen, supported and inspired. That vision led to the creation of Southside Learning Center--a place where curiosity is encouraged, faith is nurtured, and kids can truly thrive.
Outside of the classroom, life is full of energy and fun! I'm happily married and a proud mom of four boys. You can usually find our family outside playing and spending lots of time at the baseball field.
Whether you're new to homeschooling or looking to enrich your child's learning journey, I'm so glad you're here. I'd love to connect and walk alongside your family in this exciting season of growth and discovery!
Hi! I’m Haley Ritzheimer, co-founder of Southside Learning Center. With over 10 years of experience in childcare, I’ve had the joy of working with children from as young as 6 weeks old through 5th grade. I’m currently pursuing my degree and licensure in Birth–Kindergarten education to deepen my knowledge and continue growing as an educator.
My philosophy is simple: children learn best through play. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where kids feel free to explore, imagine, and develop at their own pace. Play isn’t just fun—it’s how children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Outside the classroom, I’m a proud wife and mom to three amazing kids. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, playing and watching sports, and soaking up every moment together.
I’m so grateful to be part of your child’s early learning journey and can’t wait to watch them grow!
